JOB ADVERTISEMENT ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – VISUAL ARTS & CRAFT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the vacant position of Assistant Director – Visual Arts and Crafts. Once employed, he/she will be chief coordinator and facilitator of programmes and Director’s advisor in the field of Visual Arts and Crafts.
Roles:
• To Provide professional advise to registered arts associations and their affiliates in organising exhibitions, workshops, seminars, etc.
• In consultation with leaders of arts associations, devise ways of ensuring that programmes and projects initiated by the respective registered arts associations and their affiliates can maximise the development and capacity building of the registered arts bodies concerned and their members.
• To co-ordinate the various arts activities national wide and give guidance on technical aspects and requirements.
• To co-ordinate research and write project proposals from time to time.
• To monitor the programmes of each funded event and provide reports to the Director.
• To carry out any other duties incidental or connected to the development and promotion of the Visual Arts and Crafts in the country as may be assigned by the Director from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Personal Attributes:
The job holder will be expected to be mature, reliable, honest, approachable, gender sensitive and with high integrity.
He/she will be expected to have artistic, management, leadership, analytical, computer literate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Academic and Professional Qualifications:-
(a) Primary/Secondary Education:
i. Full Form 5/Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
(b) Minimum Academic/Professional Qualifications:
i. Minimum of Bachelors degree in any recognised area of visual arts and crafts.
ii. Record of artistic practice in any field of the visual arts
(c) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience: i. 4 Years relevant work experience
