Choma Municipal Council invites applications from eligible applicants for the following underlisted positions on
contract basis
CHEF
Reporting To: Director-Commercial Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To Oversee and supervise kitchen duties by managing other members of the food preparation
team, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests’ requests
DUTIES
Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
Overseeing all kitchen operations.
Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock
Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
Keeping up to date with industry trends.
Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
A Zambian citizen aged between 18-35 years in possession of a green National Registration Card (NRC)
Grade Twelve (12) school certificate
Minimum Certificate in Food Production or any related catering qualification
Minimum 2 years experience as a Chef
Must be able to perform with minimum supervision
SKILLS
Honest
Must apply tact and diplomacy in his or her duties
Must exhibit good interpersonal skills
Able to work without supervision
No criminal record
Must be sober minded
