About WfW:
WATER FOR WATER (WfW) is a non-profit organisation committed to the fair and sustainable use
of water as the basis for a global society with equal opportunities. Convinced that clean water should
not be a privilege, WfW was founded in 2012 and is currently active in Zambia, Mozambique and
Switzerland. WfW aims all its activities towards changing the way we value, use, consume
and manage water in the long term. In Zambia, WfW’s actions focus on the professional management
of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for structurally disadvantaged urban areas, on skills
development in the water sector as well as on innovative, climate-friendly solutions for water use.

Key theme of the role:
In the role of Communications Specialist at WfW Zambia, you will support the international
Communications team in the implementation of all internal and external communication measures
and campaigns, with the possibility to expand your scope and responsibilities. Specifically, you
are responsible for driving the textual and graphic creation of content for various channels and target
groups. You are in close exchange with the Head of Communication during the conception and
implementation phase of communication measures. Moreover, you have the main editorial and
conceptual responsibility for WfW Zambia-specific communication channels. In addition, you will
support the operational planning and strategic orientation of communication measures.
In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Communication and the Communication team in
Switzerland. In Zambia, you will interact closely with managers and team members from other
departments as needed. Moreover, cooperation with external stakeholders and service providers is
to be expected.
Your main responsibilities:
› Support the development and implementation of creative communication strategies and
measures to help position WfW, communicate to different target groups on various channels,
attract new partners and sensitize the public.
This will include, but is not limited to:
› Textual and visual storytelling and creative content development
› Conceptual and organisational support for digital and analog communication
measures and campaigns
› Creation, maintenance, expansion and evaluation of WfW Zambia-specific
communication channels (social media, landing page, newsletter, events, etc.)
› Handling of press enquiries, production of media releases and preparation of
awareness-raising measures for public campaigns
› Support the internationalisation process of the WfW brand and corporate identity
Your knowledge, skills and experience:
› Certificate or diploma in either Communications, Business Administration or any related
field; any design-related qualification is a plus
› 3+ years of relevant communications / content creation experience
› Excellent visual communication skills to present ideas and information in a multimedia
context
› Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly
to different target groups and with a range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
(professional use of English, verbal use of other local Zambian languages is a plus).
› Experience in media relations and/or journalism
› Good knowledge of the media landscape, experience in media relations and public campaigns
› Good application skills for design tools from the Creative Cloud as well as online tools
such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, CMS, etc.
› Excellent project management skills
