Job Description
Reporting directly to the Senior Corporate Affairs Officers, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Corporate Affairs Officer in delivering on Corporate Social Responsibilities and strategies as well as Government protocol Policy so as to positively position the image and reputation of the Authority.
Responsibility:
MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Participating in the Corporate Social Responsibility Policy formulation related to community involvement (corporate contributions, volunteerism, disaster relief); business practices (Environmental stewardship, social events, advocacy); and social impact (strategic philanthropy, civil engagements);
Highlighting Corporate Social Responsibility activities in order to raise awareness;
Identifying focus areas or program elements such as corporate donations, environmental stewardship and volunteerism in order to deliver on long term strategies for the Authoritys social impact;
Managing opportunities to increase employee and the community awareness of and involvement in the Authoritys Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to ensure the CSR Policy is implemented and responsive to the needs of the Authority and the community at large;
Executing strategic internal and external CSR plans/programs to ensure alignment with the Authoritys broader CSR and business communication strategies for the positive reputation of the Authority;
Managing key partnerships with external groups that include donors and sector associations in order to support key audiences and stakeholders to ensure cross collaboration and integration for delivery of exceptional client services and enhancement of tax compliance levels;
Supervising and developing subordinates through complying with all Performance management and development processes in order to deliver on the mission and strategies of the Authority;
Managing strategic solutions that holistically integrate off-line and on-line offerings to create and advocate interactive strategies for CSR programs and issues through social media;
Supporting media relations strategies for CSR programs and serving as spokesperson for programs when delegated to do so by superior;
Coordinating complex and multi-dimensional projects across Divisions/Departments and communities to ensure the Authoritys social impact while managing costs and aligning projects with the Authoritys strategy;
Maintaining and managing the Authoritys reputation through strategic and targeted use of CSR as well as providing insight into necessary and sometimes anticipatory action on issues facing the Authority to advance its priorities;
Demonstrating strong understanding of target audience, good writing style and expertise in high impact messaging to a wider and more strategic audience. Also uses persistence in mobilising people around a higher purpose for continually improved value and impact of community involvement programs;
Building mutually beneficial relationships and connect/engage diverse groups of people with the aim of improving tax compliance levels in communities using empathy and interpersonal understanding;
Facilitating meetings, ensuring proper etiquette for official engagements and streamlining interactions with dignitaries and other important people so as to keep the image of the Authority in high esteem more so that ZRA is an organization that facilitates a lot of trade across national borders;
Planning events and focussing more on people issues as well as guiding leaders or Government officials in proper etiquette and/or cultural requirements by doing research and exhibiting a great deal of tact and diplomacy so as to help the Authority forge important relationships without making embarrassing blunders;
Engaging in behind-the-scenes planning and supervision of subordinates for meetings with external officials to avoid breach of protocol, crises and gaffes in order to uphold the reputation of the Authority;
Supervising and promoting team work in the CSR and Protocol section to ensure that all events and programs are fulfilled for the good of the Authority; and
Drafting Corporate Social Responsibility Reports and handing them to the superior to facilitate Managements appreciation of the activities, challenges and decision making.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) equivalent;
Minimum of a University Degree in Mass Communications, Public/Media Relations or Journalism;
Minimum of three (3) years relevant post qualifying work experience.
Master’s Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage;
Experience in protocol issues will be an added advantage; and
Must be a member of Zambia Public Relations Association (ZAPRA) or any other relevant professional body.
