The Judiciary is an independent arm of Government established under Part Vill
of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is “To administer
justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner”. In
order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary under Muchinga Province is
inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to be
considered for the following positions;
1. COURT INTERPRETER (JSS 04) X 1 (Annual Basic Salary of K52, 710.48) to
be based at Nakonde Subordinate Court in Nakonde District.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidates will be required to report to the Magistrate-In-
Charge and will be responsible for the following duties:
• To undertake effectively the interpretation of proceedings in order to
ensure that there is understanding between the parties and the bench.
• To undertake effectively the administration of Oaths in English and Local
Language in order to comply with court procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
• Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with five (5) ‘0’Level
Credits or better including English and Mathematics.
• Ability to write reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and three major local languages (Namwanga, Swahili, Bemba and Mambwe).
• Ability to interpret Nyanja and Tumbuka will be an added advantage.
• Must be between the age of 18 and 44 years.
OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Must possess high levels of Confidentiality.
• Good Interpersonal skills.
• Integrity.
• Must be computer literate.
• Maturity.
