Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S A N D E X P E R I E N C E
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
▪ Ordinary level (GCSE)/ Grade Twelve
▪ Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
▪ Minimum 3 years of experience in health supply chain forecasting, quantification, or laboratory commodity
management
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
▪ Ordinary level (GCSE)/ Grade Twelve
▪ Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
▪ Training or certification in forecasting and quantification (e.g., QAT).
▪ 3-5 years of experience in health supply chain forecasting, quantification, or laboratory commodity management
▪ Experience with quantification tools (QAT, Quantimed, or similar).
▪ Experience working in NGOs or PEPFAR-funded programmes.
▪ Experience with HIV laboratory commodity supply chains (VL/EID).

K E Y P E R F O R M A N C E A R E A S
Forecasting & Quantification Support (Laboratory)
▪ Supporting the annual forecasting cycle for laboratory commodities by collecting, consolidating and conducting
preliminary analysis of consumption, stock and service-delivery data.
▪ Supporting the quantification of VL/EID reagents, test kits and laboratory consumables using QAT, ensuring accurate
and complete inputs are used in forecasting and supply planning.
▪ Assisting in validating forecasting assumptions, consumption data and other key inputs to ensure that commodity
requirements are realistic, accurate and aligned with programme needs.
▪ Monitoring consumption patterns, stock trends and commodity utilization for assigned laboratory commodity lines,
identifying significant variances and emerging supply risks for timely action.
Data Quality & Records Management
▪ Conducting data quality assessments and validation checks on laboratory forecasting datasets to ensure accuracy,
completeness and consistency.
▪ Maintaining accurate, complete and up-to-date forecasting databases, records and supporting documentation for
laboratory commodities.
▪ Supporting data analysis, interpretation and visualization for FASP reporting, forecasting reviews and supply planning
decision-making.
▪ Identifying and escalating data gaps, inconsistencies and discrepancies to the FASP Specialist – Laboratory for timely
investigation and resolution.
Pipeline Monitoring
▪ Monitoring laboratory commodity pipelines, including shipment status, delivery timelines, stock availability and expected
arrivals.
▪ Tracking commodity movements and pipeline updates to identify potential supply gaps, delays and risks affecting
laboratory commodities.
▪ Identifying and escalating pipeline bottlenecks, shipment delays and availability concerns to the FASP Specialist –
Laboratory for timely action.
▪ Supporting coordination with suppliers, programme teams, procurement, logistics and other stakeholders to resolve
pipeline issues and minimize disruptions in laboratory commodity availability.
Capacity Building Support
▪ Supporting the FASP Specialist – Laboratory in mentoring and coaching MOH/ZAMMSA forecasting staff on laboratory
commodity forecasting and supply planning.
▪ Assisting in developing, updating and disseminating training materials, job aids and practical guidance for QAT and
other forecasting tools.
▪ Providing technical support and practical demonstrations to strengthen staff capacity in the use of forecasting tools and
methodologies.
▪ Supporting knowledge and skills transfer through on-the-job coaching and follow-up with MOH/ZAMMSA forecasting
staff.
