Provincial Health Office, Western Province with support from U.S Centre for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been implementing programs to
improve the management of TB, STIS and HIV/AIDS care services in the Province
since 2006. To further strengthen the programs,
WPHO is inviting applications
from interested persons who meet the minimum requirements to fill the following
vacant positions on contract basis subject to renewal:
JOB TITLE: HIV/TB NURSE MENTOR
LOCATION: Districts Level: Western Province
REPORTS TO: District Health Director
JOB PURPOSE: To undertake the provision of onsite mentorship to MCH staff in in
the Districts to attain proficiency in HIV service provision in order to improve
clinical care, HIV epidemic control with special focus to elimination of Mother to
Child transmission of HIV.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY (MAIN DUTIES)
Supports ART- providers to provide targeted and data-driven technical
support and clinical mentorship to MCH staff and participates in Tele
ECHO program to ensure improved provision of PMTCT services in the
district and build competency among providers.
• Undertakes regularly analysis of site level performance in order to assess
the impact of PMTCT services and implement appropriate interventions to
prevent new infections among HEIs and negative. women and sexual
partners.
• Undertakes effectively implementation and review of PMTCT guidelines
and standards to ensure adherence to national guidelines in the provision
of quality PMTCT services
• Undertakes timely formulation, implementation of individual action plans
to ensure attainment of set program objectives and targets.
• Undertakes regular maintenance and updating of the PMTCT/EID
database, in order to facilitate accessibility of information, generation of
reports and inform decision-making.
• Undertakes routine program data analysis, and performance reviews to
ensure improved program implementation and performance.
• Undertakes Quality Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance projects in
collaboration with MCH Clinic staff in order to identify best practices and
generate information for decision making
• Generate timely monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual program
reports.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Nursing.
• Midwifery and ART Nurse prescriber added advantage
• Registration with General Nursing Council of Zambia with valid practicing
license.
• Degree in Nursing will be an added advantage
• Must be between 21 and 45 years
• Three (3) years relevant work experience
• Ability to write technical and analytical reports
• Fluent in English and local language
Other skills/Attributes:
Good communication and Interpersonal skills,
Computer literacy (Microsoft office l.e word, power point and excel),
Integrity, confidentiality and Analytical skills.
