LEGAL OFFICER
Litigation Debt Recovery • Legal Advisory
The successful candidate will provide legal support across the business, manage litigation and recovery matters, support contract drafting and review, and provide legal advisory services to ensure the company’s interests are protected and its operations remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage litigation and represent the company in court across Zambia
• Support loan recovery, incl. enforcement of judgments and security
• Provide legal opinions and advice to management and business units
• Liaise with external lawyers, courts and law enforcement agencies
• Ensure compliance with Zambian laws, court procedures and professional standards
REQUIREMENTS
• LLB from a recognised institution
• Valid practising certificate
• Litigation experience (debt recovery, commercial disputes)
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Legal research, drafting and analytical skills
• Case and time management; works independently
• Integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail

• Handle debt recovery, commercial disputes and enforcement proceedings
• Draft, review and advise on contracts, agreements, notices and pleadings
• Monitor cases, keep accurate records and report on outcomes
• Identify legal risks and recommend practical mitigation measures
• Undertake regular road travel to courts, branches and clients nationwide
• ZIALE & admission to the Zambian Bar
• 3+ years post-admission experience (5+ an advantage)
• Valid driver’s licence; willing to travel to all provinces
• Negotiation, advocacy and dispute resolution • Communication and stakeholder management
• Commercially aware approach to legal risk and debt recovery
