Maamba Energy Limited (MEL) is jointly owned by Nava Bharat Singapore Pte.
Limited and ZCCM-IH plc. The Company owns and operates a large-scale coal
mine and a 300 Megawatt coal-fired Power Plant to cater for the growing
demand for power in Zambia.
Maamba Energy Limited is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional
to build a career under the Engineering Department in Maamba, Sinazongwe
District, Southern Province.
The position on offer is:
Purpose of the Role:
To coordinate integrated maintenance planning across Mechanical, Electrical,
Automobile and Instrumentation assets, ensuring work readiness, equipment
reliability, accurate maintenance records and compliance with approved safety
and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules.
• Ensure labour, tools, spares, drawings, permits and isolations are ready
before execution.
• Maintain asset registers and equipment criticality rankings.
• Monitor maintenance backlogs and work-order priorities.
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
• Develop and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance plans and
checklists.
• Coordinate oil analysis, vibration monitoring, thermography, thickness
testing and calibration.
• Support root-cause failure analysis and reliability-improvement initiatives.
Shutdown and Resource Coordination
• Plan shutdowns, overhauls and equipment rebuilds.
• Coordinate with Operations, Stores, Procurement, SHEQ, contractors and
OEMs.
• Monitor work quality and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Systems and Reporting
• Maintain accurate SAP or CMMS work orders, asset histories and technical
records.
• Track availability, schedule compliance, PM/PdM compliance, MTTR, MTBF,
downtime and maintenance costs.
• Prepare maintenance performance, compliance and management reports.
Safety and Compliance
• Incorporate safety controls into maintenance plans and job procedures.
• Ensure compliance with permit-to-work, isolation, environmental and
statutory requirements.
• Report and escalate unsafe conditions, defects and non-conformances.
Experiencce
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability, Industrial or a related Engineering discipline.
• Membership and registration with EIZ and ERB.
• SAP/CMMS or maintenance-planning training is advantageous.
• Maintenance planning, scheduling and backlog control.
• Preventive and predictive maintenance.
• SAP or CMMS work-order management.
• Shutdown and contractor coordination.
• Maintenance analysis and technical reporting.
• Safety, statutory compliance and risk control.
