SENIOR ECONOMIST – MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS (2 POSTS)
GRADE: BoZM6

Job Purpose

To conduct research on macroeconomic developments, provide input into inflation forecasts and other key macroeconomic variables, as well as produce analytical reports on economic developments in line with the Bank’s mandate.

Main Accountabilities

• To undertake research on macroeconomic developments to support monetary policy.
• To analyse, interpret macroeconomic developments, and prepare analytical reports on inflation developments and forecasts that serve as inputs into monetary policy decisions.
• To provide advice on monetary policy and broader economic policy.
• To publish research papers and/or case studies in reputable peer reviewed journals.
• To perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Experience

• MSc/MA in Economics/Finance or equivalent
• Five (5) years relevant experience.
• Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Levels (Credit or better).
• A PhD in economics will be an added advantage.

Key Knowledge and Attributes

• Macroeconomic policy and management.
• Good macroeconomic modelling and forecasting skills.
• Proof of research experience and publications.
• Strong analytical skills in written reports.
• Good presentation skills with ability to present a convincing argument.
