China Copper Mines Limited (CCM), established in 2010, is a large-scale privately owned mining company formed by a consortium of companies in the Republic of Zambia. The company is located in Mimbula, Fitula, Chingola District, Copperbelt Province. CCM’s operations span mineral resource exploration, mining, hydrometallurgical processing, sulphuric acid production, mineral trading, and mining investment.
As part of its commitment to sustaining and expanding its operations, CCM invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions:
Crane Operators (x3)
Job Summary:
To safely operate cranes for lifting, moving, positioning, and placing heavy materials and equipment while ensuring all lifting activities comply with safety regulations and support efficient mining operations.
Key Job Responsibilities:
To operate mobile, overhead, or fixed cranes safely and efficiently to lift, move, and position loads within mine, plant, and workshop areas.
To conduct daily pre-operational inspections of cranes, lifting gear, and safety devices before use.
To ensure all lifting activities are carried out in accordance with approved lifting plans, procedures, and load charts.
To communicate clearly with riggers, signalers, and supervisors to ensure safe and accurate lifting operations.
To monitor crane stability, ground conditions, and weather factors during lifting operations.
To report equipment defects, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions immediately to the Person-in-Charge (PIC).
To maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
To comply strictly with CCM safety rules, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), lifting permits, and hazard reporting.
To maintain good housekeeping standards in crane operating areas.
To perform any other duties assigned by the PIC.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 School Certificate.
Valid Crane Operator Competence Certificate.
Valid Silicosis Certificate.
At least one (1) year of proven experience operating cranes in a mining, industrial, or construction environment.Knowledge of crane load charts, lifting techniques, and safety regulations.
Physically fit and able to work at heights and in challenging site conditions.
