China Copper Mines Limited (CCM), established in 2010, is a large-scale privately owned mining company formed by a consortium of companies in the Republic of Zambia. The company is located in Mimbula, Fitula, Chingola District, Copperbelt Province. CCM’s operations span mineral resource exploration, mining, hydrometallurgical processing, sulphuric acid production, mineral trading, and mining investment.

Safety Officer (x02)

Job Summary

To promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing health and safety policies, monitoring compliance with regulations, conducting inspections, and supporting accident prevention across mining operations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

To develop and coordinate the implementation of local Safety and Environment Management and Strategic Plans.

To provide and manage the staff safety training plan for all staff on site to ensure site compliance.

To provide supervisory guidance and support to Safety Officers on site.

To collaborate with mine site management to promote a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility.

To ensure compliance with all applicable Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) legislation, regulations, and standards.

To investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare comprehensive reports. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions

To coordinate and deliver SHE training programs for employees and contractors.

To promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness.

Requirements:

Grade 12 School Certificate.

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Science, or a related field.

Professional certifications in SHE.

A minimum of two (2) year’ proven experience working in a mining or heavy industrial maintenance environment.

Valid silicosis.
